Reading by Joanna at funeral service, Written by Harriet,Joanna and Andrew, Grandchildren of Rene. 10th January 2010

Nanny's life was threatened three times by health conditions, 27 years ago, She was given six weeks to live. But my brave nanny battled through and was fortunate enough to see her children and her grandchildren grow up. Nanny was a massive part of our lives and has watched my cousin Andrew, my sister Harriet and i grow into our late teens and early twenties. We all loved her dearly and can not imagine our lives without her. Our Nanny never complained or grumbled about her problems even towards the end. She was a Beautiful, Bright and Cheerful person, Always very optimistic about her future and words can not describe how much we will miss her. Everyone that crossed her path, Friends, Children, Grandchildren and her husband, My gam, Will all agree what a kindhearted individual nanny was.Unfortunately the latest condition was the one which she could not overcome. A recent letter recieved stated "She ranks as one of the nicest people we were fortunate to meet and know" We will fondly remember her warmth and friendliness.. That was our Nanny. God bless and thankyou xxxxxxxx
